Let me explain you the POWER of MANTRAS!

I have incorporated a class on cooking and eating while using mantras into my recent Anti-Bloating Challenge, and I thought I would elaborate on this topic a bit more here!

Mantras are very dear to my heart—personally, they have helped me open my throat chakra and have positively contributed to reversing my underactive thyroid (often linked to suppressed and unvoiced emotions). They are with me while working, driving, or cooking — why?

Because mantras are incredibly powerful tools that have been used for centuries in Ayurveda and Yoga to heal the mind, balance the body, and strengthen the spirit. More than just sounds, each mantra carries a specific vibrational frequency that influences our physical and mental well-being!

Why do I recommend mantras to my clients?

Mantras are deeply connected to the five elements (ether, air, fire, water, earth) and the seven bodily tissues (dhatus). When a particular tissue is weakened, the right mantra can help restore balance. Chanting a mantra not only shifts your mental state but also influences digestion, immunity, emotional resilience, and even the quality of the food you prepare!

Mantras for each dosha

VATA: Ram is the most grounding mantra. Chanting should not be prolonged out loud, as excessive sound increases ether (space element). Instead, Vata types benefit from internal repetition.

PITTA: Cooling mantras like Om, Shrim, and Sham help soothe emotional intensity.

KAPHA: Loud and activating mantras like Hum and Om stimulate energy and movement.

How to choose the right mantra?

  • Sham – Reduces pain and discomfort.

  • Som – Nourishes and calms the mind.

  • Om & Hum – Clear the mind, strengthens immunity, and removes negativity.

  • Ram – A protective mantra, especially for those with high Vata or nervous energy. It increases warmth and stability.

  • Hum – Burns away negative forces (including pathogens) and enhances digestion (Agni). Shrim – Increases beauty, fertility, and creative energy.

  • Hrim – A mantra of purification, deeply connected to the Divine Mother.

  • Krim – Empowers transformation and is excellent for energizing food and herbs before their consumption.

How to incorporate mantras into your life?

For the most profound effects, it is recommended to chant a mantra at least 100 times a day for a month. But I think that singing mantras AT ALL is already a really great addition to your daily life :)

You can start with chanting before bed and immediately upon waking for a steady mind and nervous system.

During stress, use Ram for grounding or Hrim for purification.

When cooking, chant Krim while preparing food to enhance its nourishing energy. While driving, softly repeat mantras like Om or Hum can keep the mind clear and focused.
