Which dosha are you REALLY?

We’ve all been curious at some point!
Maybe you’ve flipped through a magazine, taken an online quiz, or listened to a podcast and thought: “I wonder which dosha I am.” It feels exciting, almost like finding out your zodiac sign or discovering your personality type.
You read the descriptions and suddenly some parts of you click: the creative but restless Vata, the fiery and ambitious Pitta, the calm and nurturing Kapha.
And often, you’ll see a little bit of yourself in all of them.
This curiosity is beautiful because it’s the first step into the world of Ayurveda. But it’s also exactly where many people get confused...
In today’s wellness world, doshic quizzes are everywhere. Some practitioners even send them out before a consultation, or use them in workshops to “diagnose” participants on the spot 🤯
They’re quick, entertaining, and they give people the feeling of being seen.
But here’s the problem: these quizzes rarely show you your true constitution!
Most people answer the questions from the state they are in right now - not from the deeper essence of who they are!
If you’re tired, scattered, or stressed, your answers will reflect that temporary imbalance.
If you’re burned out, sluggish, or stuck in a routine, your quiz results will reflect that too.
EXAMPLE 1:
Imagine someone with a strong Kapha nature: stable, nurturing, grounded - living in today’s fast, overstimulated world. They’ve been rushing from one task to another, juggling work, family, and social commitments, barely ever pausing. They feel anxious, restless, dry, and scattered.
When they take a quiz, they tick all the boxes that describe Vata. They walk away convinced they are Vata dominant. In reality, their Kapha foundation has been overshadowed by a Vata imbalance.
EXAMPLE 2:
Or picture a fiery Pitta type. Naturally sharp, ambitious, and full of drive. But after years of stress, digestive struggles, and exhaustion, they feel sluggish and unmotivated. On paper, they look like Kapha. But underneath, their core constitution is still Pitta, the fire is just dimmed by imbalance.
This is why quizzes can be so misleading. They show you the surface, not the depth.
I work differently.
When I meet with someone, I don’t need them to fill out a quiz.
Instead, I listen.
The way you speak, the rhythm of your thoughts, the pace of your movements, even the energy you carry into the conversation - all of
these things reveal more about your constitution than a hundred quiz questions could.
Sometimes it’s just a hint in your language. Sometimes it’s the way you describe your struggles. Sometimes it’s simply the feeling I get when I sit with you. From there, I can sense whether you are a Kapha soul living in a Vata-dominated environment, or a Pitta trying to recover from years of overwork.
Your true dosha isn’t something you “score.” It’s something that shines through when we look beyond imbalance and into your essence.
Knowing your true constitution is more than curiosity. It changes how you approach your health, your food, your lifestyle, and your healing journey.
If you live by the wrong dosha type, you’ll end up feeding the imbalance rather than nourishing your core.
This is why the work we do together is about uncovering you. Not just the stressed, tired, or restless version of you today - but the deep, unique design of your body and mind that Ayurveda has always recognized.
